The habit that changed my life for the better

After the second semester of my first year, I noticed that my studies have not improved since I was following up with my old school routine of studying, which was to study summaries of the required prose and poems. It was quite effective in the beginning, but it had its own pros and cons. Whatever I had read right before the exam starts, I memorised every bit of it. And I remembered all that was taught during classes, but everything else that I missed during my absence in classes, none of that was on my mind while I was preparing for the exam.

So after receiving my papers, and the total results, I had quite a low percentage in my mark-sheet so I tried to mend my ways and start exploring different approaches towards my studies. I found a method of noting down my classwork in different ways, one of those ways being in a cluster of data- which is through boxes of the certain topics that were taught in class, and classify each topic with different colours depending upon the severity of the topic and subject. Later on, I started studying for the third semester and I have seen certain improvements in my ability of studying.

But due to my recent sickness, I was unable to study properly so I had to work with whatever I had in my notebook. So after I did all that, I got to give my exams and I was quite disappointed with my marks but there was nothing that I could do about it. But my tutors had given me the hope that I had done really well for the questions that I had attempted and it was quite accurate. I was glad with that response from my tutors and that gave me a sense of achievement and confidence to follow up with this habit consistently and properly.
